Gerri Berendzen is a member of the ACES Executive Committee and has worked as a copy editor for 35 years. She is the editoral advisor for the University Daily Kansan and teaches in the KU School of Journalism and Mass Communication. In her last newspaper gig, she supervised the digital/print/design desk at the Quincy Herald-Whig. She has been focused on fact checking, research, and teaching editing since 2014, when she moved from Quincy to be a visiting professor/news editor at the University of Missouri School of Journalism.
